- New Straits Times gained sweet revenge over defending champions Astro with a 2-1 win to emerge as champions for the 5th Allianz Media Badminton 2025 tournament held at TT Sports Centre here yesterday.
- It was their third Allianz Media Badminton title and by far, the leading media team with the most number of wins since the tournament was inaugurated in 2019. Third place went to Sin Chew Daily while the Plate title went to Bernama.
- The fifth Allianz Media Badminton tournament featured 11 teams, including the Allianz Malaysia team. Astro Arena and Sin Chew Daily were the two newest additions making their debut this year. The tournament was played in a round-robin format, featuring two Men’s Doubles categories and one Mixed Doubles category.
- “This is our fifth Allianz Media Badminton tournament, and it is always a time I truly look forward to as it is a chance for us to engage with our media friends outside of work. Congratulations to all winners today and I look forward to seeing you again next year,” said Sean Wang, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Malaysia Berhad who is also Allianz badminton team captain.
