Driving is one of the world’s greatest pleasures as it provides you with a sense of freedom to go wherever your mind fancies. For instance, you could be longing for some authentic Ipoh nasi ganja right this moment and you realise it’ll only take a few hours’ drive to satisfy that craving.

So you get your keys and the journey begins but along the way, the undesirable happens and you get into a car accident. Panicking, you step out of the car to assess the damage amidst a chaotic environment filled with blaring horns of passing vehicles. You desperately grapple at your phone, calling as many people as you know to help you out.

Mere minutes after the incident, a stranger in a tow truck approaches you, urging you to get your car towed to the nearest police station to file a report. At that point, you’re too unsure of what to do and you sign the consent form this “white knight” presents to you in the hopes that all will be resolved quickly.

However, just as quickly as you signed the form, the tow truck tout takes your prized possession to an unauthorised workshop and demands that you pay a large sum for the release of your car. You realised that in that moment of panic, you’ve been taken advantage of and that sense of freedom you once had has faded away.

Such a situation happens more often than you think, especially among new drivers. Allianz Malaysia recognises the need to protect its customers from being cheated, which is why its Road Rangers service aims to make sure the process of getting your car back after an accident isn’t a nightmare.

The Allianz Road Rangers is a complimentary motor accident assistance that is available nationwide to all Allianz Motor Comprehensive policyholders. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the service makes it easy for customer to obtain end-to-end assistance in the event of an accident.

With the Allianz Road Rangers, the first thing you need to do if you meet an accident is to calm down. Next, dial 1800-22-5542 to reach the 24-hour call centre and a member of the Allianz Bike Brigade1 first responder unit will be dispatched to you.

Once the brigadier arrives, you will be provided initial assistance, including first aid and fending off touts if necessary. Your damaged vehicle will then be towed via an Allianz-approved tow truck to an Allianz Authorised Panel Repairer or a franchise workshop upon request. This gives you the peace of mind that your car will not be sent to unscrupulous workshops and a responder unit will be dispatched to you.

You will also be accompanied by Allianz personnel when lodging a police report2, who will also explain the claims process in detail to ensure you are well informed. Once the initial processes are settled, Allianz even offers transportation service to get you home after the accident.

With the use of the Allianz Motor ODX Claims system, claims can be assessed and processed in as little as 10 minutes to an hour. Once the Own Damage (OD) claims are approved, the work begins on getting your car back to its former glory again.

Even after the completion of work, Allianz continues to provide another value-added service to the customer by delivering the repaired vehicle to you rather than having you collect it from the workshop. From start to finish, the Allianz Road Rangers ensure that you and your vehicle are well taken care of, so you can get back to experience the joys of motoring again.

If this is the kind of service you would like to have available to you when needed, check out Allianz Road Rangers to find out more.
