Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, e.MAS 5 triumph at DSF.my-Allianz VOTY Awards

  • The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV and Proton e.MAS 5 were crowned Vehicle of the Year 2026 and Electric Vehicle of the Year 2026 respectively at the DSF.my-Allianz Vehicle of the Year (VOTY) Awards 2026, held at The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur here yesterday.

  • This year’s edition of the VOTY Awards celebrated outstanding achievements across 23 vehicle segments, including dedicated categories for electric vehicles (EVs) amid continued strong interest for EVs in the local market.

  • The event garnered strong interest with participation from 33 car brands, underscoring the significance of innovation and excellence in the automotive industry.

  • Proton was the night’s biggest winners, bagging both main awards -   Vehicle of the Year 2026 and Electric Vehicle of the Year 2026. Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV took home the Vehicle of the Year 2026 award while the Proton e.MAS 5 was crowned Electric Vehicle of the Year 2026.

  • “I was quite surprised and delighted at the same time to win all these awards. This is a first for us and I would like to thank Allianz Malaysia and DSF for this award recognition. What made this award victory special is the also is the support we got from our customers who paced their faith in us,” said Lampard Peng Yile, Head of Department, User Development and User Operation, Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd.

  • Other winners of the night included the Mitsubishi XForce as Crossover Of The Year, the Chery Tiggo Cross Hybrid as Compact SUV Of The Year and the Zeekr 7X AWD Performance as Electric SUV Of The Year.
