  • Allianz Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Malaysia) and BikesRepublic.com hosted the second edition of the Allianz Malaysia Motorcycle of the Year (MOTY) Awards at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort in Petaling Jaya today.

  • Allianz Malaysia is the title sponsor for the MOTY Awards. The inaugural edition of the Awards was held last year.

  • “This is our second year hosting the MOTY Awards, and the positive response from the industry as reflected in the increased participation is a testament to the growing passion and innovation within Malaysia’s motorcycle industry.   • A total of 24 awards were presented during the ceremony, including the 2026 Malaysian Motorcycle of the Year, 2026 Malaysian Rider of the Year and 2026 Malaysian Innovator of the Year, among others.

  • The 2026 Malaysian Motorcycle of the Year went to KOVE 450R.

  • The number of motorcycles competing in the MOTY Awards has risen from 28 last year to an impressive 43 this year, reflecting the industry’s enthusiasm and recognition of the awards as a benchmark for excellence.

  • This year’s event also saw the introduction of the People's Choice Awards, a category that empowers fans and the general public to have their voices heard. Through a dedicated voting platform at www.moty.com.my, motorcycle enthusiasts were able to cast their votes for their favourite motorcycles.

  • In addition to the People's Choice Awards, several new categories were introduced to reflect the evolving needs and interests of the motorcycle community.

  • The Best Value for Money Motorcycle award highlighted motorcycles that deliver exceptional performance and quality at an affordable price point, while the Motorcycle Financer of The Year celebrated  the company that makes dreams of owning a motorcycle come true for countless individuals.

  • Meanwhile, the Safety Equipment of the Year award recognised local, home-grown technologies that enhance rider safety, underscoring the importance of innovation in protecting motorcyclists on the road.

  • The MOTY Awards were judged by a panel of distinguished experts and enthusiasts including Keshy Dillon, a motoring journalist with over 18 years of experience in the industry, Kevin Lee, an advanced motorcycle trainer and off-road riding enthusiast, and Jehan Miskin, former actor and motorcycle enthusiast.

  • Title sponsor Allianz Malaysia, through its unit Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad (Allianz General), offers the Allianz Motorcycle Plus coverage which has been further enhanced in conjunction with Allianz Malaysia’s 25th Anniversary this year.

  • Customers who purchase or renew an Allianz Motorcycle Plus (Comprehensive or Third Party) policy between 3 March to 31 December 2026 will enjoy a complimentary increase in Road Accident Coverage, under which they will be entitled to a sum insured of RM25,000 for death or permanent disability caused by road accidents instead of the standard coverage of RM10,000.

  • Other key features include hospital income cover of RM100 per day up to 60 days, complimentary roadside assistance for roundtrip distances up to 50km and under the Rahmah Insurance Initiative, a complimentary one-time flood relief of RM1,000 if the motorcycle is damaged due to flooding. This plan is specifically designed for motorcycles with engine capacities of 250cc and below.
