Diversity has always been an integral part of Allianz Malaysia’s story, with 68 percent of women making up the 1,861-strong workforce at Allianz Malaysia.
In Malaysia, female participation in the workforce climbed to 54.1 percent in 2015, an increase of 750,000 women from 46.8 percent in 2010. According to Bursa Malaysia, last year, 28.4 percent of top management positions in the top 100 public-listed companies (PLCs) were held by women, an increase of 4.4 percent since 2013.
“We have always been committed towards diversity and career development for women. For a good 10 years now, women in our talent pool have excelled in showcasing leadership culture that has seen them rise up the ranks and assuming decision-making roles. It always makes for great conversations and most people are often impressed by our numbers,” said Wong Woon Man, Head of Human Resources for Allianz Malaysia Berhad.
In fact, in 2015, Allianz had more women managers in their workforce - Allianz Malaysia Berhad (66 percent), Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad (53 percent) and Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad (65 percent), a number that has steadily grown over the years.

Globally, Allianz boasts 54 percent of women at the workplace, with 37 percent of them occupying managerial roles. Also, there are at least 50 percent or more women in the workforce in Eastern Europe (68 percent), Asia Pacific (55 percent), South America (55 percent) and Rest of Europe (54 percent).
