The Article

Since January this year, Allianz Malaysia has mobilised its Allianz Road Rangers in Pahang.

The service, which was launched in the Klang Valley in January 2017, is a motor accident assistance, provided free-of-charge to all our Motor Comprehensive (Private Car) policyholders nationwide.

“When we first introduced the Allianz Road Rangers in 2017, we had one thing on our minds – our customers. As an insurer, it is our job is to make things better for them in good times and bad times. With the Allianz Road Rangers, we are able to offer our customers a service with a meaningful difference no matter where you are and provide an ideal claims journey in an unpredictable, imperfect world,” said Sazali Abdul Rahman, Head of Franchise, Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad during Allianz Road Rangers event at Taman Gelora Kuantan.

“The best part, the service is complimentary and is included in all Allianz Motor Comprehensive policies. So in an event of an accident all you need to do is call 1800-22-5542 and we’ll be there with you every step of the way,” added Sazali.

During the event, members of the public were able to take a closer look at the Allianz Road Rangers tow trucks and participate in a variety of fun activities. After Kota Bharu, Seremban, Johor Bahru, Temerloh, Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan, the Allianz Road Rangers will be making further stops in Kota Kinabalu (8 September), Langkawi (5 October) and Penang (18 October).

The Allianz Road Rangers seven touch points are:

24-hours Accident Call Center
All road accident calls will converge at the newly set up Accident Call Center.

Allianz Road Rangers: Bike brigade
The First Respond Unit will be the first to the scene when a call is received. The brigadier will provide first aid assistance (if needed) and will accompany the customer until the tow truck arrives.

Allianz Road Rangers: Tow trucks
The fleet is made up of Allianz-branded tow trucks, each equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS); dolly wheel; jumper booster; and air pump. The tow truck operators will be responsible for towing the customer's vehicle to the police station (to lodge a police report) and later Allianz Authorised Panel Repairer or to a franchise workshop upon request.

Claims Assistance at Police Station
Customers will also be provided assistance in lodging the police report and explaining the claims process in detail at the police station.

Transportation services
Ride-sharing code will be provided to passengers to be ferried from the accident site or police station.

Allianz Motor ODX Claims
Eligible Own Damage (OD) claims are assessed and given a vehicle repair cost via a Straight-through process without human intervention anywhere between 10 minutes to one hour.

Vehicle Delivery
Customers will have an option to have their repaired vehicle delivered to their home, office or preferred location (within the specific distance) instead of having to collect it from the workshop.

The Allianz motor claims transformation began in September 2015 with the launch of the Allianz Motor ODX Claims and culminates with the launch of the Allianz Road Rangers today.

An industry-first, the Motor ODX Claims was introduced to improve Allianz’s claims process. Now with Allianz Motor ODX Claims, eligible Own Damage (OD) claims now go through a series of rules integrated into a backend system allowing claims which previously took about three to five days to be approved to be completed from anywhere between 10 minutes to one hour.

In an event of an accident or need for roadside assistance, Allianz motor customers should call 1800-22-5542.  To find out more about the complimentary Allianz Road Rangers service, visit the Allianz Malaysia corporate website at
