Worrying about lost or damaged smart devices, stolen sports equipment, or missed concerts will be a thing of the past with Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad (Allianz General)’s latest offering - Allianz Lifestyle Protect.
Launched by Allianz General’s Head of Partnerships Sazali Abdul Rahman and Head of Agency Ivan Lee Heng Guan, Allianz Lifestyle Protect is a unique, all-in-one personal protection plan to manage everyday risks. It offers a total of 16 benefits across categories such as lifestyle, care and well-being.
Allianz Malaysia Berhad Chief Executive Officer Zakri Khir said: “Allianz Lifestyle Protect is more than about preserving your lifestyle. It is also about safeguarding Malaysians from life’s daily risks as they carry on with their lifestyle. Insurance is one of life’s great equalisers, and as insurers, it is our responsibility to offer protection that makes a difference. Regardless of what is happening around us, Malaysians deserve the protection which safeguards their interests and support them when things get a little rough.”
Some of the unique benefits of the Allianz Lifestyle Protect include a lump sum payment for a snatch theft or attempted snatch theft incident, Smart Device Protection (compensation for lost or damaged smart device due to a break-in or snatch/attempted snatch theft), and Loss of Sports Equipment (compensation due to a break-in or snatch/attempted snatch theft).
Besides that, the plan also offers Online Purchase Protection (compensation for loss of goods purchased from fake website/apps or non-delivery of purchased items), Credit Card and Loan Indemnity (reimbursement of the amount required to pay as at date of accident for credit card, hire-purchase, mortgage or personal loan if policyholder is hospitalised due to an accident) as well as Rehabilitation Expenses benefit that reimburses the policyholder for consultation and treatment costs if the policyholder requires rehabilitation following hospital discharge due to an accident.
Moreover, students pursuing higher education can take up the Study Interruption benefit. It offers reimbursement of one semester’s fees should the policyholder be hospitalised or upon the death of a financial sponsor due to an accident. This benefit also includes transportation costs if the policyholder needs to return to Malaysia to visit an immediate family member who is hospitalised or has passed away due to an accident.
“It was important for us to come up with a plan that prioritises daily life and things that are important to our customers. Unlike a regular Personal Accident plan, we wanted the Allianz Lifestyle Protect to be of real value to people. So we incorporated benefits which were relevant to Malaysians across the board, keeping it easily adaptable to their lifestyle needs and, more importantly, we made it affordable,” said Zakri, who is also Chief Executive Officer of Allianz General.
Allianz Lifestyle Protect is offered to all Malaysians aged from 16 to 65 years old and is available in five different plans, from as low as RM85 per year. Moreover, existing Allianz Shield Plus customers can also purchase Allianz Lifestyle Protect from only RM76 per year.
Other benefits available with Allianz Lifestyle Protect include Lifestyle Modification Expenses, Missed Event, Housekeeping Services, Permanent Disablement, Funeral Expenses, Hospital Income, Nursing Care as well as Double Indemnity in the event of Motor Vehicle Accident and Renewal Bonus.
