As the country moves into the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), Allianz Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Malaysia) is aiming to help build resilient communities though its Allianz We Care Community initiative.
Kantar, a leading data, insights and consulting company, recently polled 16 markets in Asia (including Malaysia) on the impact of COVID-19. The study revealed that during the second phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO), 55 percent of Malaysians were worried about financial security while 35 percent were concerned about their health. Moreover, the study also showed that 21 percent of Malaysians who had no plans to purchase insurance would consider buying insurance in the near future.
“Our role as insurers is more than just about providing protection. It is about fostering and building inclusive and resilient communities that are able to respond to adverse situations together. It is about providing real value and addressing real concerns during times of uncertainty,” said Joseph Gross, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Life.
“The RMCO will help Malaysians to get back on their feet, but at the same time, they are going to be worried about their health and financial security. COVID-19 took everyone by surprise and there a lot of questions still left unanswered. We want to help dissipate those doubts and insecurities. And so, our purpose of building resilient communities and providing real value has never been more important than it is now,” added Gross.
To support and reassure Malaysians in times of uncertainty, during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, Allianz Malaysia set up the Allianz We Care Community programme. One of the programme’s first initiative is to provide complimentary COVID-19 benefit including access to a medical enquiry hotline to customers and non-customers alike.
The initiative allows Malaysians aged 18 and above will be entitled for three types of complimentary COVID-19 benefit. Each benefit category (Standard, Advanced, and Premium) will be valid from 1 June to 31 December 2020 and will include cash relief upon diagnosis of COVID-19, and hospitalisation and death benefit due to COVID-19.
“Through our Allianz We Care Community, we hope to encourage Malaysians who are worried about the worst-case scenarios to feel confident and secure in the new normal. We want to assure them that Allianz is a trusted brand that is providing value and that we will be with them when they need us the most,” he continued.
Allianz customers will be able to make the most of the Premium category (up to RM6,000 in cash relief; up to RM20,000 lump sum death benefit) or Advanced category (up to up to RM4,000 in cash relief; up to RM20,000 lump sum death benefit). Meanwhile, non-Allianz customers will benefit from the Standard category (up to RM1,000 in cash relief; up to RM 8,000 lump sum death benefit).
