In its second year running, the Allianz Pacesetters 4x3km 2015 relay race proved to be a big hit as avid runners and corporate teams gathered at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur to take part in the run on 17 October 2015.

The run, a sponsorship collaboration between Allianz Malaysia and Pacesetters Athletics Club in aid of the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation – National Centre (KDSF – NC) in Petaling Jaya, Selangor saw some 684 participants take part in the relay race. The format of the race sees teams of four compete, with each runner running three kilometres per loop, passing the baton to the next person in line.

Running is not just an activity, it’s a way of life. And at Allianz, we’ve been steadily championing Malaysians to adopt a healthier lifestyle because we believe that everything you strive to achieve in life comes hand-in-hand with healthy living.  And what better way to enjoy it than by indulging in the most basic form of exercise – running,” said  Susan Ong, Chief Market Management Officer of Allianz Malaysia Berhad after flagging off the race at 7.30am.

This year’s run featured five categories; Category A – Men’s Open, Category B – Women’s Open, Category C – Under 26 Men (Universities, Colleges and Schools), Category D – Under 26 Women (Universities, Colleges and Schools) and Category E – Kiwanis Pace It Forward (mixed). To take part in the Pace It Forward category, corporate organisations made a minimum donation of RM1,000 to  Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation – National Centre. A total ofRM51,000 was raised from this challenge for the centre.

This year, Allianz Malaysia sponsored seven teams of employees to participate in categories Men’s Open Category (three), Women’s Open Category (two) and Mixed Category (two) for the Kiwanis Corporate Charity Challenge. In the mixed category for the Kiwanis Corporate Charity Challenge, Allianz’s Mohd Hairul Hafizul, Suniza Sulaiman, Mohd Razman and Izzat Izzudin Azhar took first place.
