Allianz Malaysia continues to reinforce its position as the title sponsor for the Allianz Pacesetters 4x3km at a press conference held today at the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation National Centre in Petaling Jaya.

Zakri Khir, CEO of Allianz Malaysia Berhad and Wan Yew Leong, President of the Pacesetters Athletic Club addressed guests at the press conference. Pacesetters Athletic Club is the biggest running club in Malaysia and is the organiser of Allianz Pacesetters 4x3km 2015 while Allianz Malaysia is the second time title sponsor of the event. The run will be held at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur on 17 October 2015 and is expected to attract 250 teams comprising of four runners in each team, as compared to 200 teams last year.

“Running is one of the most participated sports activities in the country. We hope that through the sponsorship of the Allianz Pacesetters 4x3km 2015, we are able to provide a positive platform for everyone to join us as we promote a healthy lifestyle and balanced living among Malaysians and others alike,” said Zakri Khir, CEO of Allianz Malaysia Berhad.

Allianz Pacesetters 4x3km 2015 will have five different categories; Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Under 26 Men, Under 26 Women and Kiwanis Pace It Forward. Under Kiwanis Pace It Forward, a minimum donation of RM1,000 is required by each team. 100% of the donations received will be contributed to the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation.

For category A, B, C & D, Pacesetters members enjoy RM10 discount per member in a team.

“We are looking forward for many to participate in this 4x3km run as it is not only an interesting relay race that promotes a healthy lifestyle, but it is also for a good cause. Through this, we also hope that Down Syndrome will get the awareness it deserves,” said Zakri.
