“In the spirit of Malaysia Day, we called upon people to show kindness to one another regardless ethnic background, religion and cultural belief, through the act of donating blood to help those who are in need,” said Francis Tan Chin Foo, Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad’s Area Manager – Melaka, Muar, Segamat, Batu Pahat and Kluang.
Apart from the blood donation drive, Allianz Malaysia also collaborated with the National Transplant Resource centre and the participating hospitals under the Ministry of Health in setting up booths to facilitate the registration of organ donation pledges.
“Currently, there are more than 19,000 Malaysians reported to be on the waiting list for an organ transplant1. With this initiative we hope that there will be more awareness created on organ donation,” concluded Francis.
Those interested are encouraged to check their eligibility as a donor at the National Blood Centre's official website www.pdn.gov.my for blood donation, and the National Transplant Resource Centre's official website www.dermaorgan.gov.my for organ donation pledge.
Allianz Malaysia encouragd members of the public to head over to their nearest location to support this noble cause.
