Allianz Malaysia conducted a road safety advocacy campaign at Rantau, Negeri Sembilan on 12 December 2019 to raise road safety awareness in the area. 

Allianz Malaysia’s road safety advocacy campaigns emphasises on the safety of motorcyclists as they hold the highest road fatality rate in Malaysia. In 2019, the Company conducted 19 road safety advocacy campaigns, advocating the public to be safe on the road especially during the festive season. 

During the campaign, motorcyclists received reflective stickers and reflective windbreakers which help increase visibility in low-light areas.  Those who were driving cars were given car seatbelt shoulder pads as well as a safety hammer. The safety hammer is a multi-tool which functions as a torchlight, beacon light and seatbelt cutter and can come in handy in the event of a vehicle breakdown or accident.

“Our road safety advocacy campaign is one of our core corporate responsibility initiatives. Since 2011, we have been advocating the importance of road safety and practicing safe road behavior to our fellow Malaysians. Through these campaigns, we hope to raise awareness and plant a seed of thoughtfulness to remind ourselves to drive safe and to always buckle up while driving,” said Ng Siew Gek, Head of Allianz4Good of Allianz Malaysia Berhad.     

Allianz Malaysia, in collaboration with Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya (JKJR) has been advocating road safety since 2011 through initiatives such as road safety advocacy campaigns at accident prone areas as well as the in-class and interactive road safety education programmes at schools.
