In conjunction with Malaysia Day, Allianz Malaysia organised a nationwide Blood Donation Drive and Organ Donation Pledge at ten locations; Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Kajang, Miri, Kuantan, Kota Bharu, Alor Setar, Tawau, Bukit Mertajam and Seremban between 15 to 19 September 2015.

Throughout the Drive, 444 people donated a pint of blood each. Each pint is able to save up to three persons’ lives as it can be separated into three components; red blood cell, plasma and platelet.

“Donating blood is something we can do to save someone’s life irrespective of one’s ethnic background and culture. We are truly pleased with the success of this campaign. It is heart warming to see our employees, agents, business partners, customers and the general public contributing towards this noble cause,” said Zakri Khir, CEO of Allianz Malaysia Berhad.

Besides the blood donation drive, Allianz Malaysia also collaborated with the National Transplant Resource Centre and the respective participating hospitals, of the Ministry of Health Malaysia in setting up booths to facilitate the registration of organ donation pledges where 115 pledges were made nationwide.

“We at Allianz will continue to support and encourage community related initiatives such as this as we truly value the importance of contributing to the community,” concluded Zakri.
