Allianz Malaysia held a nationwide recycling drive collecting papers, clothes, electronic waste (e-waste) and books from 21 to 27 November 2018. Involving 15 of its branches nationwide, the Company managed to collect over 3, 600 kg of paper, 180 kg of clothes, 62 kg of e-waste and books. “We started our recycling drive in 2016 with the aim of creating sustained awareness on the importance of recycling and to reduce waste which would otherwise be sent to landfills as well as to inculcate green habits among our employees. This year, we added pre-loved clothes and books to the list so that we can give them a second lease of life and a new home,” said Ng Siew Gek, Head of Allianz4Good of Allianz Malaysia Berhad. The collection of paper and e-waste will be given to Infodel and UrbanR Recycle+ while the books went to the Malaysian Insurance Institute’s book donation campaign. The collected clothes were passed on to Kloth, a local fabric recycling organiser while second-hand working clothes that were in good condition were given to students of SOLS 24/7, a humanitarian organisation which serves, educates, and empowers underserved communities through education and social empowerment programs.
