The Article

Allianz Malaysia plays its part to lessen the burdens of flood survivors, especially during the festive season. Many had lost their homes and belongings in the flood that hit parts of Malaysia last December.

In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya celebration, Allianz Malaysia employees as well as an agent representative made a day trip to Gua Musang, Kelantan on 13 July 2015. During this visit, food items were handed out to 100 families who were affected by the flood. These families who received the aid were in different areas in and around Gua Musang, including Jalan Kuala Betis, Kampung Serian, Kampung Sungai  Serian, Limau Kasturi, Kem Etnobotani and campsites in Bandar Baru Gua Musang.

Hari Raya is a time of celebration but it is also a time to reflect on what we have and to think of those less fortunate than us,” said Ng Siew Gek, Head of Allianz4Good for Allianz Malaysia.

With the festive season around the corner, many flood victims are reminded of their loss in the devastating flood last year. These families are still struggling to rebuild their lives in Gua Musang, with some still living in tents and others in their damaged houses. This time of the year is when families come together to celebrate at their homes. Allianz Malaysia would like bring some happiness this Hari Raya by giving these families an opportunity to do so despite their current living conditions.

“We know that our contribution will not erase all suffering but we sincerely hope that it will bring at least some cheer to the families in Gua Musang as they celebrate this coming Hari Raya.” concluded Ng.
