Allianz Malaysia held a Crime Prevention and Survival Skills programme for its employees on 11 December 2015 at the Head Office, Menara Allianz Sentral in Kuala Lumpur as part of its efforts to promote personal safety, particularly women’s safety. The programme aims to create awareness and to equip Allianz employees with some preventive measures and basic safety defence and survival skills to protect themselves and their families from the threat of crime.

The event was conducted by DSP Foo Chek Seng of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department, Royal Malaysia Police, Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur. DSP Foo shared his expertise on personal safety and home safety based on Malaysian case studies.  Part of the programme involved demonstrations on the proper way to carry a handbag, escape techniques to use when an assaulter grabs a victim by the wrist or when being strangled.  Tips on ways to carry cash in the pockets, wallet or purse safely as well as staying safe at home by installing safety gadgets were also shared during the session.

Allianz Malaysia’s Corporate Responsibility Department, Allianz4Good’s head Ng Siew Gek said “At Allianz Malaysia, we take staff safety seriously.   We hope that through the programme, our staff will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to keep them and their families safe from the threat of crime.”

Allianz Malaysia will continue its efforts to create awareness on safety by organising programme like this to raise the level of awareness among employees, agents, business partners, customers and the general public.
