Allianz Malaysia recognises the importance of a diverse workforce in providing results for customers. With more than 1,800 employees all over Malaysia, Allianz Malaysia has a diverse workforce in terms of age, gender and ethnicity.

“As part of the Allianz Group, we are very happy that there are many initiatives in place to enhance the development and presence of a diversified workforce within the Company,” said Wong Woon Man, Head of Human Resources, Allianz Malaysia Berhad.

Allianz Malaysia has a varied generation in its workforce; from the ages of below 25 years old up to more than 65 years old. More the 41 percent of its employees are between the ages of 25 and 34 years old while more than 14 percent are between the ages of 45 and 54 years old. The diverse generation form a dynamic team, where both the young and the old share ideas, experience and skills; and drive the business that suit the needs of each and every customer, whether they are young adults or retirees. Besides, the recent appointment of 32-year-old Y.A.M. Tunku Zain Al-Abidin Ibni Tuanku Muhriz as Independent Non-Executive Director in November 2014 also marks the call of diversity in Board of Directors of Allianz Malaysia.

Women also play an important role at Allianz and as part of its effort on the advancement of women; a global target of increasing the share of women in the talent pool for positions to 30 percent by 2015 was initiated among others. As such, Allianz Malaysia appointed Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Datuk (Dr.) Rafiah Binti Salim as Independent Director in 2012. Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Datuk (Dr.) Rafiah is the first women Director of Allianz Malaysia. Besides, out of the 1,830 employees in Allianz Malaysia, 1,241 are women, which represent a 67.8 percentage of women employees in the Company. Nine female employees at Allianz Malaysia are at the Top Management level.

Aside from these efforts, Allianz Malaysia also has a varied group of workforce in terms of ethnicity, whether Malays, Chinese, Indians or other races. It celebrates ideas and talents through a non-discriminatory Code of Conduct.

“Allianz supports diversity and recruits according to skills, talents, drive and ability of a person rather than basing on gender, race or ethnicity. We understand that promoting diversity is necessary as a fair, just and caring employer in addition to the success that follows ,” concluded Wong.
