The month of March was all about the women as Allianz Malaysia celebrated International Women’s Day by recognising trailblazers within the Company.

Allianz Malaysia’s diverse workforce encompasses people from various backgrounds, cultures, and nationalities. Out of its 1,998 employees, women make up 68 percent of the workforce. Women also make up about 43 percent of its board members and 60 percent of total managers.

In a series of posts on its Facebook page, the Company shared words of empowerment that were from two employed Persons with Disability, a Head of Department with two portfolios and the female members that make up the Company’s Board of Directors including Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Datuk (Dr.) Rafiah Salim who is also its first woman Chairman.

“In Malaysia, nearly 70% of undergraduates consist of women. Ladies, grab all the opportunities out there. It is about doing your best and you will be seen if you go the extra mile when entrusted with a task. This quality will help you be seen as someone that contributes and contributes well,” said Tan Sri Datuk (Dr.) Rafiah, Chairman of Allianz Malaysia Berhad and Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad.

Sharing her key elements for success, Chief Executive Officer of Life & Health for Allianz in Asia Pacific, Renate Wagner said: “Choose something you are passionate about, if you don’t like what you are doing then stop doing it and look for something you are really passionate about. The world is full of opportunities and therefore try to pick one you feel strongly about because that is what will help you accelerate and advance. Also, always have a positive attitude.”

To bring some added fun, the Company also organised an all-women 2019 Allianz Malaysia Bowling Championships at Ampang Bowl in Berjaya Times Square on 22 March.

The tournament featured 50 employees from the head office and branches within Klang Valley, as well as Allianz Malaysia Berhad’s board of director Marzida Mohd Noor. Drawn into teams-of-five, participants bowled two games with the highest combined score declared as champions. The bowler with the highest individual score, walked away with the title Best Allianz Bowler 2019.
