Thirteen young Malaysians touched down at the Denpasar Internation Airport in Bali, Indonesia today For the Allianz Junior football Camp (AJFC) Asia 2016 from 19 to 22 July 2016.

The youngsters will be among 50 teengers aged 14 and 16 from China, South Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan and Thailand who will undergo the football camp at the Canggu Club under the watchful eyes of FC Bayern Munich youth coach, Timon Pauls. From the AJFC Asia, only three Malaysians will be selected for AJFC in Munich, Germany from 25 to 30 August 2016.

"We are very pround to be sending the creme of the crop from Malaysia to AJFC Asia.These boys put in the hard work to impress our selectors during the gruelling six-week malaysia league to earn their place in bali. We hope that they will fully utilise their time there and gain sound football knowledge from the like of Timon Pauls and AJFE 2016 ambassador Giovane Elber," said Susan Ong, Chief Market Management Officer, Allinaz Malaysia Berhad.

"The camp provides great exposure to our youngsters. On the Field they get to experience firsthand what it's like to train under the FC Bayern Munich youth coach, undergo different training drills and hopefully leave as better players. Off the field, it's a great intercultural experience where they get to mix and mingle with their peers from all across Asia. So it's a very special experience for them." added Susan.

The Malaysian contingent is made up of 16-year-old Muhammad Iqbal Norazizan, Arfan Azman, Shankar P.Ghanais, Sharvin Selvakumaran, Ahmad Nur Rahman Abd Rasid, Kamal Amirul Afiq Kamalazman, Muhammad Shafiq Aliff Ishak and 15-year-olds Cik Muhammad Syafiq Cik Kasiki, Muhammad Shahril Suparman, Muhammad Alif Safrie Mohd.Sallahuddin, Muhammad Iqmal Ramlan, Muhammad Fakrusy Syakirin Mohd Fairoh and Ruventhiran Vengadesen.

During the camp, the young footballers will participate in daily training sessions which will culminate in a tournament on 21 July 2016 to decide the AJFC Asia winners from each country. Part of the festivities at AJFC Asia includes get-together activities, My Finance Coach programme (financial literacy programme) and a cultural performance by the participants.

AJFC is an annual football event held globally since 2009 with AJFC Malaysia debuting in 2012 followed by AJFC Asia in 2014.The AJFC Malaysia League 2016 was officially launched in Kuala lumpur on 16 February 2016.Teams of 18 players aged between 14 to 16 year olds participation in the six-week league which kicked off on 2 April 2016.In five editions, 4,185 young aspiring footballers have tried out at AJFC Malaysia. Malaysia's participation at AJFC in Munich,Germany has steadily grown two entrants in 2012 to five entrans last year including a set of twins who were wildcard winner from the AJFC Asia in Bali,Indonesia.
